Dartmouth College Development and XeniumGroup chose Long Hill to develop a custom software application for its Dartmouth Honor Roll project. The application automates the generation of database-driven web pages that publicly recognize donors of unrestricted gifts. The success of this project led to follow-on work to recognize donors for the Kemeny Math Building.

Gregory S. Franklin Associates selected Long Hill to develop their new Qualitative Issues Analysis (QIA™) product, a web-based media monitoring and analysis system. QIA research analysts use the data entry and database backend to summarize media coverage based on customer-defined criteria. Customers use the QIA web interface to identify the patterns and issues forming public opinion.

  • Tally Systems is delighted with Long Hill's work on Oracle database tuning for several of their major clients. Repeat engagements follow.
  • InvestorAB, a venture capital investment firm, engages Long Hill to do technical evaluations on several knowledge management start-ups.

As a former venture capitalist, I relied on Marty's technical knowledge and business model insight to help evaluate emerging technology companies. His analysis and opinions were critical in helping me decide which startup companies to invest in, and equally as important, which companies to stay away from.

The level of functionality and power in version 1.0 of QIA has surpassed our initial expectations. The combination of structured defined fields and open, customizable functions has provided a range of capability not originally envisioned. This added value came from the Marty's's ability to listen, understand and translate our specific business needs into desired functions, plus see where our concepts could be enhanced by his understanding of specific web-based capabilities.

Marty Himmelstein has been a key resource for all technical projects at XeniumGroup. He has an unfailing ability to take a product or feature idea and expand it to encompass related aspects, abstract it so that it becomes applicable to a wider audience, reduce it to a core architectural pattern, and implement it in clean, maintainable software code.
